Here at White Rock Garden Club, we get excited about everything to do with flowers and gardening. We regularly host featured speakers, have Parlour Shows, go on group excursions, enjoy socializing with our fellow members and generally have a great time sharing through growing.

The Annual Plant Sale was held once again the Saturday before Mothers' Day at Ocean Park Hall. The Flower Market with their beautiful bouquets for Moms sold out. The Bakery had their highest sales ever and featured jars and jars of orange marmalade. Hanging Baskets were gone in a flash. The cashiers kept smiling as cartloads of plants and Garden Stuff disappeared from the tables and were delivered to waiting cars. A draw was held for donated items that winners were tickled pink to receive. A great turn out of members helped set up, sell and answer questions from local gardeners.
Plant Sale 2021:
Another Covid-19 Plant sale that was changed to a Members Only sale to ensure social distancing and proper protocols were followed. A Catalogue was created from members’ donated plants. Email orders were taken from the plants grown and donated by the WRGC and the North Surrey Garden Club Members. Plants were dropped off at the Ocean Park Hall early in the morning and members were given a time to pick up their purchases later in the day. The 2021 plant sale was a great success!

Garden Tours 2022
August 2022 - More than 30 people attended the members’ garden tour on Tues. August 22.Such an enjoyable day for all!
Starting at Sharon Stanley’s beautiful, closely knit property. Absolutely full of blooms everywhere you look, with little signs and surprises peeking out between.
Then we were off to Pat Yorke’s wonderful selection of favourites, and so neatly planted, every one equally important. Lots of questions asked here. Everyone wanted a cutting of her beautiful Rose of Sharon.
Then it was time for lunch, so off we went to Hilary Callihoo’s for a tour of her “junk”, but we all agreed when it is put to such interesting use, it isn’t junk anymore. Hilary has a wonderful way of introducing each surprise. The garden here was lovely, and friendly, with several residents coming to greet us and have a chat. We enjoyed our lunch sitting in the shade, and relaxing
Then off to Margrit Elmiger-Isert’s very full and very tidy garden. So much beauty all in one small space! We heard a lot of “Oh, what is this?” and, “Could you please give me a little bit of that one?” The highlight was the beautifully pruned wisteria vine (not allowed to climb on the fence).
Then the hale and hearty began the trek up the 100 steps to see John and Eileen Davidson’s neat, colourful garden, from bottom to top. What a place to enjoy nature and relax! And relax we did, with food and drink from the host and hostess with the mostess!
Garden Tours 2021
July 8, 2021 - Visit to Joyce O'Brien's neat and tidy and very private garden. Lovely covered patio with conversational seating areas, colourful hanging baskets, and whimsical birds.
June 24, 2021 - a visit to Fran and Joe Deptuck's garden in Langley, where the blueberries and cherries were forming, and the kiwis, the delphiniums, the wonderfully smelly voodoo lily, lush hanging planters. There were peas, carrots, cabbages, broccoli, tomatoes, raspberries, squash and to top it all - acres of grapes. And we got to sample last year's picking - their own wine, yummy!
June 16, 2021 - Visit to Melanie and Phil Rantucci's garden in White Rock. Spacious area, variety of perennials, roses, quince, fig tree, even a Palm tree. A riverbed with various ornaments makes the garden interesting. A lovely sitting area.
